SAMUEL GAVINO SANCHEZ
McALLEN - Samuel Gavino Sanchez was born in Ciudad Mendez, Veracruz, Mexico on February-19-1941 the second son of Manuel Sanchez and Elva Palacios. He became a father figure to his siblings, learning to survive at a very young age after his father abandoned the family.
His (Sanchez) brothers and sisters are: Sixto (preceded in death - the event that brought Samuel to Christ), Sylvia, Saul, Sergio, Manuel, his (Quintero) brothers and sisters are: Mario, Benita, Elva, and Francisco After a long 8 year illness Samuel died peacefully in his sleep at his home in McAllen on May-5-2012.
Samuel was proud to have been a naturalized U.S. Citizen. He loved America and the benefits of liberty our country afforded him. He was a faithful and loving husband, father and grandfather. Samuel was a fiercely independent man who worked tirelessly and unselfishly to provide for all his family and his church brethren. Above all he loved Jesus and served Him faithfully for almost 2 decades as a church volunteer and elder.
Final funeral services will be at Ric Brown Funeral Home, 621 East Griffin Parkway, Mission, TX 78572 on Tuesday morning, May 8, beginning at 10am. Final procession to cemetery and burial at La Piedad Cemetery between 11a and noon.
Survived by Luisa Sanchez (wife), Sergio Sanchez (son), Delia Gutierrez Sanchez (daughter in law), Noah Sanchez (grandson) numerous nieces, nephews, brothers and sisters and in laws who love him very much. We are with you in eternity, Praise Jesus.
