BACILIO DE LUNA McALLEN - Bacilio De Luna, a proud member of the greatest generation joined the ranks in heaven on January 1st, 2013. Born in November 13, 1924, in Mission, Texas. He was a graduate of La Joya High School and attended Pan American Junior College. Bacilio was a World War II veteran serving in Germany with the 1st Infantry Division, earning a Bronze Star and Purple Heart. He was preceded in death by his wife Maria, and son Matias. He is survived by his daughter Sylvia De Luna Cerda, brother Miguel De Luna Sr. and grandchildren David Cerda (Lisa), Patricia Martinez (Robert), Amy Cerda, Alisa De Luna, Aaron De Luna and 9 great-grandchildren. Bacilio was the "gold standard" and example of what a man, husband, father and soldier should be. He will be sorely missed and loved forever. Funeral arrangements are under the direction of Flores Funeral Home and will be today, January 3, 2013 from 1:00 p.m. to 9:00 p.m. with a rosary to be recited at 7:00 p.m. at Flores Funeral Home of Mission. Mass will be held at 10am on Friday, January 4th at St. Mary Magdalene Catholic Church in Abram, Texas. Interment with military honors will follow at San Jose Cemetery also in Abram. Honored to serve as pallbearers will be David Cerda, Aaron De Luna, David Land, Miguel De Luna Jr., Fernando Cerda Jr. and Robert Martinez.
