ADELA CANTU PARTIDA EDINBURG - On February 4, 2013, Adela Cantu Partida died after a short illness. She died with a great love of her Lord God and the great hope of his second coming. She had a strong spirit and a genuine love for God and for all her children, grandchildren and great-grandchildren. Mama taught some of her children to read in Spanish from her fragile Spanish Bible, always instilling in them a love for education. Most people who knew her, will remember her also for her boundless energy, even now at 90. She loved to garden and water her plants expressing displeasure if the weather was too cold for her to go outside to tend her garden. She is survived by her six sons, Guadalupe (Hilda Cantu) Partida of Edinburg, Jose Gertrudis (Gloria Diana Saenz) Partida of McAllen, Efrain (Krista Bain) Partida of Alabama, Judge Juan Ramon (Felicia Saenz) Partida of Palmhurst, Ricardo Partida of South Bend, Indiana, Armando (Lupita Gondalez) Partida of Edinburg; three daughters, Eulalia Partida, San Juanita (David) Reyes, and Olivia (Richard) Fernandez; three brothers, Ramon Cantu (Carolina), Guadalupe "Lupe" Cantu (Bertha) of Edinburg, Juan Cantu (Oralia) of Edinburg; 21 grandchildren; 22 great-grandchildren; cousins, nieces and nephews.
