Obituary Condolences

GEORGE MASSO George Masso went to be with the Lord, May 6, 2013. He was born in Jerusalem, Palestine on May 4, 1937 as one of ten children to Carlos and Carmen Masso. He moved from his homeland with his family in 1948 to Matamoros, MX. He graduated high school from St. Joseph's Academy in Brownsville, TX, and later graduated from Texas A&M University. He opened his first retail business in Hereford, TX, then later moved to McAllen, TX in 1969-70 to continue with many retail operations, including the Boot Jack Stores of the Rio Grande Valley. He also started a footwear manufacturing and distribution operation with accounts throughout the US. He also acquired and developed several commercial and residential properties. He is survived by his beloved wife, Gordana from Mission, TX, his four children Kevin Masso of Corpus Christi, TX, Selina Masso Pena (Ben) of Boerne, TX, Michael George Masso (Robyn) of McAllen, TX, and Mark Richard Masso (Karen) of McAllen, TX, his 11 grandchildren and 2 great grandsons whom he all dearly loved and was affectionately known as "Poppy", along with his 2 brothers and 5 sisters and his step-son Nikola Dovedan (Anna). A viewing memorial will be held at Kreidler Funeral Home in McAllen, TX today, Thursday, May 9th, 5:30pm to 8:00pm. The funeral service will be held at Our Lady of Sorrows on Friday, May 10th at 10:00am, then immediately followed by the entombment at the Rose Lawn East Mausoleum.
