CINDY YVONNE ALONZO GOVEA On April 9, 2014 our beloved Cindy Yvonne Alonzo Govea went to be with our Lord after her battle with Breast cancer. She was surrounded by her loving family. She is survived by her parents, Mr.& Mrs. Eliab (Josie) Alonzo; her biological mother, San Juanita Bruno; and her brother Mike Bruno; her beloved friends: Isabel Gutierrez and Karina Lascano, who were by her side from the beginning during her battle with cancer. Cindy was an animal lover and cared for three family pets: Cicy, Dino, and Maple. Cindy Alonzo was one of the founders of the first RGV non-profit cancer organizations in the Valley called "Pink Positive". She was actively involved with the VannieCookCenter, Driscoll Children's Hospital and other charitable organizations. She donated her time and gift of photography to many cancer patients. The family would like to extend a special thanks to the entire doctors and staff at RenaissanceHospital for their wonderful care and support. Also, her uncle, Dr. Armando Osio, Dr. Daghestani and Dr. Samuel Garcia. Celebration of Life Service was held Thursday, April 10, 2014. Memorial service will be held at 2:00 pm Friday, April 11, 2014 at Crossroads Church, 1101 E. Fern, McAllen. Interment will follow at RoselawnCemetery in McAllen.
