JUAN GARCIA ALTON - Juan Garcia, age 65, passed away Thursday morning, May 1, 2014, at his residence in Alton. He was a native and lifelong resident of Alton. He was a US Army veteran of the Vietnam War and had retired as a long time truck driver. He was preceded in death by his parents, Josefina & Liborio Garcia and two sisters, Amelia Garcia and Virginia Chavarria He is survived by his wife of 47 years, Maria Hilda Garcia of Alton, a daughter, Maria H. Garcia of Alton, two sons, Esteban (Marina) Garcia of Palmhurst and Daniel ( Sylvianora) Garcia of Edinburg, five granddaughters, four sisters, Hortencia Meza of Weslaco, San Juana Molina of Mission, Guadalupe Mungia & Lydia Gonzalez both of Alton, 6 brothers, Eliborio Garcia of Alton, Eluterio (Maria) Garcia of Alton, Guadalupe (Sylvia) Garcia of Elsa, Jose (Irma) Garcia of Beeville, Horacio (Marsha) Garcia of Alton & Abel Garcia of Houston. Visitation will be held today, Sunday, May 4, 2014, from 1:00 to 9:00 pm at Ric Brown Family Funeral Home, 621 East Griffin Parkway in Mission with a Holy Rosary to be recited at 7:00 pm in the evening. Funeral Mass will be celebrated at 11:00 am, on Monday, May 5, 2014 at San Martin de Porres Catholic Church in Alton. Interment with military honors provided by the VFW Post 8788 of McAllen will follow at the RGV State Veterans Cemetery on South Inspiration Road in Mission.
