Weslaco - Weslaco, TX - Beatriz Rios, 72, passed away to be with the Lord on Wednesday, March 21, 2018 at her residence. Mrs. Rios was born October 19, 1945 to Gabriel & Margarita Martinez in Weslaco, TX. She is preceded in death by her parents; 2 brothers, Hector Martinez, Gabriel Martinez, Jr. & 1 sister, Benita Trevino. Mrs. Rios is survived by her husband, Oscar Rios of Weslaco, TX; 1 son, Oscar Rios, Jr. of Weslaco, TX; 2 daughters, Cynthia Rios of Weslaco, TX, Debbie Rios-Lombrana (Juan) of Austin, TX; 3 brothers, Reyes Martinez of Visalia, CA, Esteban Martinez of Weslaco, TX, Francisco Martinez of Santa Maria, CA; 7 sisters, Janie Sustaita of San Antonio, TX, Minerva Trevino of Sacramento, CA, Yolanda Rabara of Grover Beach, CA, Alicia Barrioso of Visalia, CA, Dolores Oliva, Diana Duncan both of Santa Maria, CA & Estella Lopez of Oxnard, ,CA. Also surviving are 4 grandchildren, Nicole Saenz, Regina (Michael) Cortez, John (Jenny) Saenz, Oscar J. Rios & 3 great-grandchildren, Alexa Curry, Phoenix Curry & Celeste Cortez. Beatriz embodied faith and love, giving all of herself to serving the Lord. Her beautiful spirit radiated through her smile. Her voice spoke truth and wisdom, providing guidance to all who knew her. Beatriz did all things in love for her family, Christ and devotion to Mother Mary. "Then Peter came to Jesus and asked, 'Lord, if my brother keeps on sinning against me, how many times do I have to forgive him? Seven times?' ... And Jesus concluded, 'That is how my Father in heaven will treat every one of you unless you forgive your brother from your heart.'" (Matthew 18: 21,35). Visitation will be 11:00 a.m. to 9:00 p.m. today, Friday, March 23, 2018 at Guerra Funeral Home of Weslaco - Chapel of The Angels with a 7:00 p.m. rosary. Funeral service will be 10:00 a.m. Saturday, March 24, 2018 at St. Joan of Arc Catholic Church. Interment will follow at Weslaco City Cemetery. Pallbearers will be John Saenz, Juan Lombrana, Robert Curry, Michael Cortez, Oscar J. Rios & Michael Rios. Arrangements are under the direction of Guerra Funeral Home of Weslaco, Inc., 2602 N.
