Mary G. (nee Alspaugh) Hartigan, age 86, of Gladwin, passed away Friday, December 6, 2013 at Spectrum Health in Grand Rapids.
Mary was born February 23, 1927 in Jasper Township, Midland County, the daughter of Arthur and Hazel (Zhonner) Alspaugh. She graduated from St. Louis High School. Mary married Robert Hartigan on January 25, 1975 in Lansing. She was a life member of the Harrison Moose Lodge and member of the Eagle's in Lansing. Mary was an avid golfer and bowler.
She is survived by her husband, Robert of Gladwin; son, Dennis (Janet) Howe of Mecosta; granddaughters, Jeani Howe, Denise Jackola; great granddaughter, Katie Jackola; step-daughters, Emma Jane Curtis, Alene (Marvin) Jensen; and many nieces and nephews.
Mary was preceded in death by her parents; first husband, Allan Howe; step-son, John Howe; brother, Henry Alspaugh; sisters, Dorothy Lienweber, Viola Daymon, and Leota Guild.
Funeral Services will be held Monday, December 9, 2013 at 1 p.m. at the Lux Funeral Home, St. Louis with Pastor Carl Cecil officiating. Interment will be in Oakgrove Cemetery, St. Louis. Visitation will be held Monday from 11 a.m. until time of service at the funeral home.
