LaClair, Dorothy M.* - Alma  
LaClair, Dorothy M. Age 92; of Alma; passed away peacefully at her son’s home June 27, 2016. Dorothy was born on April 19, 1924. She was raised by her grandparents on a farm near Carson City. She graduated from Carson City High School. Dorothy later graduated from Central Michigan University where she obtained her teaching certificate. She taught over 30 years in the Carson City, Sumner, and Crystal areas. Dorothy married Pete LaClair on June 30, 1945 and they celebrated 51 years of marriage. Together they raised three sons. She lived for sixty years on the family farm in rural Carson City. Dorothy enjoyed life on the farm, planting her garden, cooking, and having picnics at Crystal Lake. Dorothy loved watching her children roller skate, play football, baseball, and fishing. She had so many friends and she enjoyed them all. Dorothy was also fond of the time she was able to spend in Florida later in life. She loved family times and observing activities that involved her grandchildren and great grandchildren. Dorothy also liked to play euchre and watch the Detroit Tigers. She is survived by her three sons, Jerry (Ruth) of Lexington, KY, Dennis (Pat) of Alma, Dean (Joan) of Breckenridge; four grandchildren; six great grandchildren. She was preceded in death by her husband, Pete; her parents; and step-brother, Jay Evans. Dorothy will be remembered as a loving wife, mom, grandmother, and great friend to those that knew her. The family would like to thank Mid-Michigan Hospice for their skillful and compassionate care. Funeral Services will be held on Thursday, June 30, 2016, at 11 a.m. at Trinity Church in Alma with Pastors Jeff England and Bill LaClair officiating. Burial will follow at New Haven Township Cemetery. The family will receive friends on Wednesday from 2 to 4 and 6 to 8 p.m. at the Lux-Moody-Wolfel Funeral Home, Alma and one hour prior to the service at the church on Thursday. Lefebvre, Bernadine* - Mount Pleasant  
Lefebvre, Bernadine “Deni” J. Age 74; of Shepherd, passed away Wednesday, June 22, 2016, at St. Mary’s Hospital in Saginaw. A Funeral Mass for Deni will be celebrated at 11 a.m. Tuesday, June 28, 2016 at Sacred Heart Catholic Church with Father Don Henkes as celebrant and Deacon Larry Fussman assisting. The family will receive friends at Charles R. Lux Family Funeral Home on Monday from 2 to 4 and 6 to 8 p.m. with the Vigil beginning at 7 p.m. Visitation continues at the church on Tuesday one hour prior to Mass. A luncheon will follow at Sacred Heart Parish Hall. In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions may be made to the Festival Chorus at Central Michigan University or Sacred Heart Choir. Envelopes will be available at the funeral home or church. Deni was born June 14, 1942, in Mt. Pleasant, daughter of the late John Earl and Lora Alice (Granger) Priest. She graduated from Shepherd High School in 1960 and attended Central Michigan University. On February 23, 1963, she married Francis Lefebvre at Kincheloe Air Force Base in Kinross, MI. She was employed as a telecom specialist at CMU, retiring in 2005. She was a member of Sacred Heart Parish where she sang in the church choir. She also sang with the CMU Festival Chorus highlighted by a performance at Carnegie Hall. She enjoyed knitting, sewing, singing, reading, gardening, and spoiling her grandchildren. Deni is survived by four children, William (Nanci) Lefebvre of Canton, Lora (Michael) Ross of Portage, Lynnette (John) Mueller of Southfield, Audra (Greg) Hynes of Ithaca; eight grandchildren, Ian Lefebvre, Gabrielle Lefebvre, Riley Ross, David Mueller, Nathan Mueller, Connor Mueller, Aaron Hynes, and Kaeli Hynes; niece, Stacy (Keith) Slaght of Grand Ledge; step-brother, Peter (Josie) Stitt of Florida; and step-sister, Martha Gabe of Oregon. Lyon, Ruth L.* - Alma  
Lyon, Ruth Lorraine Age 88; of Alma, MI; passed away on Saturday, June 25, 2016 at Masonic Pathways in Alma. A Memorial Service for Ruth will take place on July 6, 2016 at 10:30 a.m. at Doig Chapel, Masonic Pathways. Pastor George Ayoub will officiate. Ruth was born to Tennyson Earl and Marion Lorraine Cox VanEvery on December 16, 1927 in Buchanan, MI. She married Denny Lyon in Buchanan in 1948. Together they raised three sons, Charles, Gary, and Bradley. Ruth was an organist, and played at many different places throughout her lifetime. At first she played piano in one room rural schools in Dowagic, MI and Indian Lake. Then later she played for the Christian Science Church, the Alma United Methodist Church, Doig Chapel, and for many funerals and weddings. She owned Twin Cities Welcome Service and was on the Alma Public Library Board for 26 years and was President for 13 of those years. She was also a member of Beta Sigma Phi, PEO, and Eastern Stars. Surviving Ruth are her three sons, Charles D. (Randi) Lyon of Southgate, MI; Gary S. Lyon of Royal Oak, MI; and Bradley K.. (Donna) Lyon of San Pedro, CA. Preceding Ruth in death were her husband, Denny on July 12, 2013 and her older brother, David Earl VanEvery in 2003. Memorial contributions may be made to the Alma Public Library. The family is being served by the Dewey Funeral Home of Alma.
