Pratt, Marylyn Lucille* - Clare  
PRATT, MARYLYN LUCILLE; age 74; of Clare; passed away peacefully Thursday, February 26, 2015; at the Woodland Hospice House. A Memorial Service for Marylyn will be held at Clark Family Funeral Chapel on Wednesday, March 4, 2015 at 1 p.m. with Fr. Thomas Held officiating. A Luncheon will follow in the Reflections Reception Center. The family will receive friends the day from 11 a.m. until the time of service. Memorial contributions may be made to the family. Envelopes will be available at the funeral chapel. Marylyn was born on May 5, 1940 in Flint, the daughter of Arthur and Martha (Kranich) Rancour. She married Cassius Hugan Johnson, Jr. in 1962. Marylyn and Cassius had five loving children together. Cassius passed away 1968.Marylyn remarried in 1972 to Gaylord Pratt. The two of them spent 30 years together before Gaylord’s passing in 2003. Marylyn enjoyed playing bingo, hunting, fishing, camping, gambling, but most importantly, she loved spending time with her family.Marylyn is survived by her children, Richard Johnson of Clare, Christine (Paul) Wismer of Mt. Pleasant, and Tony (Michelle) Johnson of Clare; 16 grandchildren; several great grandchildren; brothers, Jerry (Nancy) Rancour of Mt. Morris and Dennis Rancour of Atlanta, MI; and many nieces and nephews. Marylyn was preceded in death by her first husband, Cassius Johnson, Jr.; second husband, Gaylord Pratt; son, Gary Johnson; daughter, Constance Johnson-Rundell; parents; brothers, Eugene and Juel Rancour; and sister, Pat McLeod. Preston, Dustin R.* - Dewitt  
Preston, Dustin R.; age 43; passed away on February 21, 2015; at Sparrow Hospital surrounded by his loving family. He was born September 22, 1971 in Grand Rapids, MI to Walter and Sandra (Anderson) Preston. He was a three sport athlete who graduated from West Catholic High School in 1990 and attended Central Michigan University on a football scholarship and became a 4 year letter winner. He graduated with a degree in communications and continued to be a lifelong supporter and champion of CMU Athletics and charter member of the 1100 Club. Dustin founded Capital Steel and Wire in 2001 with his wife, Kelly, and grew the company into a successful steel distributorship achieving national recognition with the Entrepreneur Magazine Hot 500 Fastest Growing Companies in America. In 2008, he received the Greater Lansing Entrepreneur Award for Distribution and Top Michigan 50 Companies to Watch in 2009. His entrepreneurial spirit helped develop various other businesses throughout the Mid-Michigan area. Dustin was very involved in his community, serving as the President of the DeWitt Downtown Development Association, on the Vevay Township Board, and served as a member of the L.L. Johnson Lumber Company Board of Directors. He was preceded in death by his father, Walter David Preston; his grandparents, Lynn Keith and Ethel Maurie Anderson who held a special place in his heart.Surviving to cherish his memory are his wife of 18 years, Kelly (Flynn) Preston; his daughter, Karah Jane Preston; his sons, Kade and Jace Preston; his mother, Sandra (Richard) Tice; his twin brother, Chad (Laura) Preston and Tyler (Trinity) Preston; his in-laws, Richard and Mary Flynn; his sister-in-law, Kathleen (William) Flannery; and his nieces and nephews, Taryn, Grayson Preston; Nathan, Allison, Adam, and Casey Flannery. Dustin pursued life with passion and a genuine interest and concern for others. As a mentor and friend, he touched many lives and brought out the best in everyone. He inspired them to live their life to the fullest with a big smile and an old school handshake. His greatest pleasure was watching with pride as his children grew and excelled in academics and sports. The family will receive friends for visitation at the Catholic Community of St. Jude, 801 N. Bridge St., DeWitt from 3 to 8 p.m. on Tuesday, February 24, 2015, with a Scripture Service to be held at 7:30 p.m. A Funeral Mass will be held on Wednesday, February 25, 2015 at 11 a.m. at the Catholic Community of St. Jude.
