Darnell, Dorothy Marie* - Mt. Pleasant  
Darnell, Dorothy ‘Dotty’ Marie; age 81; of Mt. Pleasant, Michigan; passed away on Saturday, April 25, 2015 at the Isabella County Medical Care Facility in Mt. Pleasant. Dotty was born on Monday, November 6, 1933 in St. Clair, Michigan the daughter of Grant A. Smith and Mary L. (Noble) Smith. She was a resident of the Mt. Pleasant area since 1951. Dotty was employed by McBride Homes as a direct care giver for over ten years. She enjoyed bowling with her sons and families. She was known as a very competitive game player who enjoyed playing cards and enjoyed singing. Survivors include her children: Kevin and Kathy Darnell of Mt. Pleasant, Diane and Tim Ellis of Beach City, Texas, Kathy Darnell and her wife, Cindy Collinsgru of Cinnaminson, New Jersey, Tom Darnell of Kansas City, Missouri, Steven Darnell of Mt. Pleasant and Brian and Evelyn Darnell of Weidman; also eight grandchildren; and seven great grandchildren. Dottie was preceded in death by her parents; sons, Dan and Jeff; daughters. Debbie and Tammy; a grandson, Kevin Matthew Darnell; a brother, Grant N. Smith; and a sister, Cynthia Hickey. Funeral Services will be held on Friday, May 1, 2015 at 11 a.m. from the Rowley Funeral Home with Jean Thrush officiating. Friends and family will gather on Thursday, April 30, 2015 from 2 to 4 and 6 to 8 p.m. at the funeral home. Cremation will follow the Funeral Service with Interment in Chippewa Township Cemetery at a later date. Friends have been asked to consider the Isabella County Medical Care Facility for those desiring to memorialize Dotty with a contribution. Envelopes are available at the funeral home. The family wishes to express their thanks for the outstanding care Dotty received while living at the Isabella Medical Care Facility. Draper, Jerry Jay* - Alma  
Draper, Jerry Jay; age 80; of Alma; passed away Saturday, April 25, 2015 at his home. He was born November 11, 1934 in St. Louis, MI the son of Harmon and Agnes (Bailey) Draper. He married Rose Marie Fairchild on February 2, 1957 in Shepherd. Jerry lived in Gratiot County his entire life, working at Leonard/Total Refinery in Alma for over 43 years. Jerry held numerous positions in operations and maintenance, retiring as an electrician in 1997. He was a member of East Superior Christian Church in Alma. Jerry served his country in the United States Army during the Korean War from September 4, 1957 to September 3, 1959 and continued with the National Reserve until his honorable discharge on August 31, 1963. Jerry enjoyed many outdoor activities throughout his life, but none more than hunting and fishing. He especially loved to deer hunt with over 50 sets of antlers mounted in his basement. He also loved to camp, with his family remembering many summer camping trips to Higgins Lake. He also enjoyed playing Euchre with friends on Mondays and Fridays. Jerry is survived by three sons, David (Susanna) Draper of Littleton, CO, Richard (Vicky) Draper of Wheeler, Jerry (Dawn) Draper of Highland Ranch, CO; one daughter, Susan (Ron) Czajka of Littleton, CO; 11 grandchildren; 5 great grandchildren; 2 sisters, Barbara (Gerald) O’Bryant of St. Louis and Nancy Draper of St. Louis. He was preceded in death by his wife, Rose Draper in July of 2001; his parents, Harmon and Agnes Draper; and his father and mother-in-law, Vernon and Faye Fairchild. Funeral Services will be held on Friday, May 1, 2015 at 11 a.m. at Lux-Moody-Wolfel Funeral Home with Dr. Jim Amstutz officiating. Interment will follow in Riverside Cemetery. Visitation will be held on Thursday, April 30, 2015 from 2 to 4 and 6 to 8 p.m. at the funeral home. Memorial contributions may be made to the America Diabetes Association. Dutcher, Ronna Jean* - Weidman  
DUTCHER, RONNA JEAN; age 89; of Weidman; passed away on Tuesday, April 28, 2015 at the McLaren Central Michigan Hospital. A Memorial Service for Ronna will be held at a later date. Ronna was born on February 15, 1926 in Sherman Township, the daughter of Nelson and Helen (Pasco) Leiter. Ronna married Ervin A. Dutcher, Jr. on August 5, 1946. She was a member of the Daughter’s of the American Revolution. Ronna enjoyed gardening. Ronna is survived by her children, Brian (Linda) Dutcher of Remus, Steve (Missy) Dutcher of Weidman, and Sandra (Ed) Oplinger of Weidman; grandchildren, Chad Dutcher, Ashleigh Oplinger, Trevor Oplinger, Emily Battle, and Josh Stone; and great-grandchildren, Ahren Oplinger, Kaelyn Higgins, and Ellery Battle. Ronna was preceded in death by her husband, Ervin; grandson, Craig Dutcher; parents; and brothers, Leonard and Clement Leiter.
