Hammond, Kristine M.* - Riverdale  
Hammond, Kristine M.; of Riverdale; age 64; passed away at U of M on April 4, 2015. Kris was born January 25, 1951 in Manistique, Michigan. She was married to Raymond D. Hammond on October 21, 1977. Kris is survived by her daughters, Korrie J. Muse and Konnie J. (Johnny) Glidden; grandchildren, Kristine Claire (K.C.) and Stephen Ray Muse. She is also survived by a brother, Kenneth (Vickie) Kralik; and sister, Karolyn Foland of Riverdale, Michigan. She also leaves behind several nieces, nephews, cousins and friends. She will be missed by many. A Graveside Memorial Service will be held on July 11, 2015 at 11 a.m. at the Sibley Cemetery Riverdale. A Luncheon will follow. Memorials may be made to the family to help with funeral expenses or to the American Cancer Society.

Hanson, Michael* - Alma  
Hanson, Michael David; age 49; of Alma, Michigan; passed away June 17, 2015 in Missoula, MT. Mike was born February 1, 1966 in Phoenix, Arizona. He grew up in Bloomington, MN and graduated from Thomas Jefferson High School in 1984. He attended the University of Minnesota in Minneapolis where he earned a BA in Political Science and Mass Communications. Mike met, fell in love, and married Jana Anfinsen in 1993. Together they had a son, Zachary (18) and a daughter, Sydney (15). During college, Mike interned with both the Minnesota Vikings and Minnesota Representative Bill Frenzel. After college, Mike went on to complete a season-long internship with the Houston Oilers before beginning his career with the New England Patriots. He later worked for the Miami Dolphins, Florida Panthers, and the Portland Trail Blazers. In order to spend more time with his family, Mike took a job at Alma College, a small Liberal Arts school in Michigan. He worked there for the last seven years as the Sports Information Director and as an adjunct professor. In April, he was hired by the University of Montana as the new Assistant Athletic Director for Communications. Mike was a beloved husband, father, son, and devoted family man. He loved adventure, was an accomplished three sport athlete, and dedicated youth sports coach. You could often find Mike at home with his family cheering on his native Minnesota sports teams. Mike is survived by his wife, Jana; son, Zachary; daughter, Sydney; mother, Jean (Denny) Malherek; and father, David (Carol Miletti) Hanson. Please join the family for a gathering to celebrate Mike’s memory in Alma, Michigan on June 30, 2015 or in Minneapolis, Minnesota on July 8, 2015. Details of the events are pending. Mike’s family requests that you wear a Hawaiian shirt or your favorite sports attire and bring stories to share about Mike. Mike is greatly loved and will be sorely missed.

Huckins, Lowell G.* - Riverdale  
Huckins, Lowell G.; age 81; of Riverdale, Michigan; passed away June 7, 2015 in Lansing, MI. He was born November 24, 1933 in Lansing, MI, son of L.D. and Ruth (Teed) Huckins. Lowell was a former employee of Consumers Energy and served in the U.S. Army during the Korean Conflict. In July of 1958, Lowell married the love of his life, Patricia. He was man of faith; devoted member of Riverdale Seventh Day Adventist Church; member of VFW of Six Lakes, and enjoyed spending time with family and especially his grandchildren. He is survived by his sons, Russell Huckins and Martin (Leila) Huckins; daughters, Tina (Jeffrey) Avery and Jessica (Jon) Seaver; 28 grandchildren; and 28 great grandchildren; and sister, Doreen Huckins, Loree DeBolt, and Sandy Church. He was predeceased by his wife of 48 years, Patricia; sisters, Irene Ochring, Oralee Bailey and Frieda Wasson. A Memorial Service will be held Friday, July 3, 2015, 11 a.m., with receiving of friends at 10 a.m. at the Riverdale Seventh Day Adventist Church, 6392 N.W. Lumberjack Road, Riverdale, MI 48877, with Pastor Chuck Hanlon officiating. Military Honors will follow at Richland Cemetery, Vestaburg. In lieu of flowers, memorial donations may be made to the family, c/o Jessica Seaver, P.O. Box 34, St. Johns, MI 48879. Online condolences may be shared at www.petersandmurrayfuneralhome.com
