Henry H. Hopkins, age 95, of Breckenridge, passed away Wednesday, September 4, 2013, at Masonic Pathways in Alma.
Henry was born July 14, 1918, in Ohio, the son of Aaron and Martha (Trickey) Hopkins. He served during W.W.II in the Navy in the Pacific Arena. Henry married Wanetta (nee Keel) Stinson on April 3, 1948, in Indiana. He worked as a truck driver, hauling freight for Great Lakes Express. He was a member of the Breckenridge United Methodist Church, St. Louis VFW and a founding member of the Central Michigan Old Car Club. He enjoyed collecting all things, especially antique cars. He was known for his quick wit and humor.
He is survived by his wife, Wanetta of Breckenridge; daughters, Julayne (Bernard) Hutfilz of Merrill, Ida Jean Hopkins of Cleveland, OH, Barbara Jean Hayes of Clyde, TX; and many grandchildren; great and great great grandchildren.
Henry was preceded in death by his son, Richard Hopkins; great granddaughter, Allison Muehlfeld; three sisters and seven brothers.
A Celebration of Life will be held on Saturday, September 14, 2013 at 11 a.m. at the Breckenridge United Methodist Church with Pastor Paul Thomas officiating. Interment will be in Oakgrove Cemetery, St. Louis. In lieu of flowers, memorials may be made to the Breckenridge United Methodist Church or the Central Michigan Old Car Club.
