Janet Kay Knapp

Knapp, Janet Kay; age 67; of Blanchard; passed away on May 3, 2014 at her home with her family by her side. She was born on July 19, 1945 in Lansing, the daughter of Howard and Hazel (Ewing) Dalrymple. Although the family moved around a bit, she was raised in the New Haven Township area. In 1961, Janet married Harry A. Knapp in Big Rapids. Janet was employed with Electrolux in Greenville for more than 5 years and also worked for the US Postal Service and had her own paper route. Janet’s hobbies including watching television and movies, playing cards, working puzzles and spending time with her family and grandchildren. She also was an avid Elvis Presley fan. Janet is survived by her husband of over 50 years, Harry; 5 children: Claude Knapp of Kingsley, Harry (Linda) Knapp of Blanchard, Tony (Michaela) Knapp of Blanchard, Rick (Melissa) Knapp of Edmore and Kevin (Rebecca) Knapp of Six Lakes; 13 grandchildren; 4 great grandchildren; 3 sisters: Geraldine (Jim) Stevens of Perrinton, Barbara Turner of Charlotte and Mildred (Lee) Lyon of Sunfield and numerous friends and extended family members. Janet was preceded in death by her parents, Howard and Hazel and 5 brothers: Howard (Alan), Jerry, Lyle, Clarence and Clifford Knapp. A Funeral Service for Janet has been scheduled for Thursday, May 8, 2014 at 11 a.m. at Brigham Funeral Chapel, 6055 Howard City Edmore Road, Vestaburg with Chaplain Wayne Shidler officiating. The family will receive the love and support of extended family and friends at a visitation scheduled for Wednesday, May 7, 2014 from 6 to 8 p.m. at Brigham Funeral Chapel, Vestaburg. Interment will be in the New Haven Township Cemetery with a luncheon at Crystal Lake Community Church, Crystal, 122 Main Street, Crystal, following the committal service.
