Judith Thomas(1937 - 2014)

Thomas, Judith Louise; age 77; died on Saturday, March 29, 2014; at her home in Mt. Pleasant, Michigan. Judy was born on February 8, 1937 in Bay City, Michigan to Earl and Lena Andrews. Her brother William Andrews was born five years later. She was a lifelong resident of Mt. Pleasant. Judy met Larry L. Thomas while attending CMU and they were married June 15, 1957. They had two children, William F. Thomas born in 1958 and Jennifer L. Thomas born in 1962. Judy was a housewife and mother. She eventually returned to CMU in the early 1970’s and completed her degree in Psychology. She was a lifelong dog lover and was a founding member of the Mt. Pleasant, Michigan chapter of the American Kennel Club. She and Larry enjoyed organizing and putting on dog shows in Mt. Pleasant. They continued with this until Judy’s health made it too difficult to continue. Judy was a proud grandmother of Jessica B. and Andrew L. Thomas, and enjoyed going to all of their sporting events and cheering them on. She was also an avid reader and lover of music. Judy is survived by her husband, Larry; her children, William (Diane) of Mt. Pleasant and Jennifer (Liz Ulrey) of Ferndale, Michigan; and two grandchildren, Jessica Thomas of Unionville, Michigan and Andrew Thomas of Mt. Pleasant; and a brother, William Andrews of Okemos, Michigan. She was preceded in death by her father and mother, Earl and Lena Andrews. Judy desired to have no funeral service, but memorial donations can be made in her name to the Isabella County Commission on Aging. Envelopes are available at the Rowley Funeral Home in Mt. Pleasant.
