Lillian Edna Rix(1918 - 2014)

RIX, LILLIAN EDNA; age 96; of Mt. Pleasant; passed away Wednesday, May 21, 2014 at Tendercare of Mt. Pleasant. Following Lillian’s wishes, there will be no service. Her ashes will be buried in White Chapel Memorial Cemetery in Troy, next to her husband. Lillian was born on February 11, 1918 in Detroit, the daughter of Archie and Lillian Wismer. She married Orlin Roy Rix on June 1946 in Detroit. Lillian worked for the Wayne County Government. Lillian was a very talented musician and seamstress. At one time she sang with the Danny Thomas Band and the Sweet Adelines. Along with her musical accomplishments, she was a poet with many published works. Lillian is survived by her son, Jeffrey Clayton (Sally Blubaugh) Rix of Weidman; grandson, James Clayton (Gina) Rix of Ipswich, MA; great-grandchildren, Vincent Clayton Rix and Angelina Rix; and sister, Alice (Rolland) Watts of Troy. Lillian was preceded in death by her husband, Orlin Roy Rix; parents; and sister, Hope Tomsett.
