M. Maxine Coldwell

M. Maxine Coldwell, age 91, of Mt. Pleasant passed away with her family by her side on Wednesday, January 22, 2014, at the Isabella County Medical Care Facility.
Funeral Services for Maxine will be held at Clark Family Funeral Chapel on Monday, January 27, 2014, at 11 a.m. with Pastor Jack Steenberg officiating. Interment will follow in Memorial Gardens Cemetery. The family will receive friends on Saturday, January 25, 2014 from 6 to 8 p.m. and on Sunday, January 26, 2014 from 2 to 4 p.m. and 6 to 8 p.m. Visitation will continue the day of the service from 10 a.m. until the time of the service. Memorial contributions may be made to the Isabella County Medical Care Facility. Envelopes will be available at the funeral chapel.
Maxine was born on June 15, 1922, in Weidman, the daughter of Otto and Pearl (Hiles) Smith. She married Frank Coldwell on September 28, 1940, in Mt. Pleasant. Maxine worked as a manager for the Isabella County Soup Kitchen for several years and the State Home and Training as a LPN in psychiatry for 20 years. She was involved with the Isabella County Extension and a member of the Coleman Wesleyan Church. Maxine loved spending time with her family, cooking, gardening, traveling, and painting. She always had a camera with her.
Maxine is survived by her children, Sharren (David) Cook of Shepherd, John (Carol) Coldwell of Lake Leelanau, and Thomas Coldwell of Farwell; grandchildren, Deb Cook of Edmore, Scott Coldwell of Grand Rapids, Tim Coldwell of Las Vegas, NV, Dawn Kahler of Kalamazoo, Rhonda Mack of Lake Leelanau, Trudy Foster of Lake, and Tonya Popp of Lake Leelanau; and 17 great grandchildren.
Maxine was preceded in death by her husband, Frank in 2003 and her parents.
