Milton Bruce Otteman(1941 - 2014)

Otteman, Milton Bruce; age 72; died February 24, 2014; at his home in Clarksburg, WV. A Memorial Service for Milt will be held at Clark Family Funeral Chapel on Friday, March 28, 2014 at 5:30 p.m. Visitation with the family will be from 3 p.m. until the time of the service. Donations may be sent to Amy Otteman Nurse Education Fund at the Mt. Pleasant Area Community Foundation, 306 S. University, P.O. Box 1283, Mt. Pleasant, MI, 48858. Envelopes will be available at the funeral chapel. He was born August 14, 1941 in Mt. Pleasant, MI, to Floyd and Irene Otteman. He graduated from Mt. Pleasant High School in 1960, briefly attended Central Michigan University and then took a job in the oil business with Welded Construction. In the mid 1960’s, he opened and operated Sport and Toy, a sporting goods and toy store in Mt. Pleasant for five years and then went into the oil and gas industry full time. For a period of time in the 1980’s, he owned Uncle Milty’s Third Base Lounge, a neighborhood bar in Remus, MI. Milt was an avid sports fan with a passion for Detroit Tigers baseball and Michigan State University athletics. He also enjoyed stamp and marble collecting, playing cards with friends, was a Civil War buff and fan of country music. Milt is survived by his sister, Mary (Dan) Fussman of Mt. Pleasant; sons, Timothy of Mt. Pleasant and James (Lacy) of Holland; and grandchildren, Taylor, J.D., Lauren, Kaitlin, and Leo Otteman. He was preceded in death by his parents; brothers, Michael and Ronald; and daughter, Amy.
