Richard William Fuhrman, Sr., age 96, a lifetime resident of the Breckenridge area, passed away, Friday, February 22, 2013 at Hearts Content Foster Care. He was born August 19, 1916 in Midland County the son of William and Elsie (Stevenson) Fuhrman. He served his country in the United States Army during W.W.II, being stationed in Africa and Italy, until his honorable discharge. On February 2, 1948 he married Marion Lange. Richard drove a fuel truck for Greening Oil and later retired from Farm Bureau. He enjoyed hunting, fishing and spending time with his family at their cottage on Houghton Lake.
Richard is survived by three children, Linda (Don) Munsell of Alma, Jackie (Tom) Beougher of Merrill and Dick Fuhrman, Jr. of St. Louis, six grandchildren, eight great grandchildren and two great great grandchildren; also two brothers, Rex Fuhrman of Alma and Jack (Marge) Fuhrman of Greenville. He was preceded in death by his parents, his wife, Marion in 1988, one sister and five brothers.
Funeral Services will be held on Monday, February 25, 2013 at 1 p.m. at the Lux and Whiting Funeral Chapel in Breckenridge with Pastor Maggie Wallin of the Breckenridge Congregational Church officiating. Interment will be in Ridgelawn Cemetery, Breckenridge. Visitation will be held on Sunday from 2 to 4 and 6 to 8 p.m. and on Monday from 12Noon p.m. until the time of services at the funeral home.
