Adolfo "Rudy" Castillo Obituary

April 14, 1942-June 28, 2013

Adolfo "Rudy" Castillo, age 71, of Lake Isabella passed away Friday, June 28, 2013.
Per Rudy's wishes, the family will receive friends at Clark Family Funeral Chapel on Monday, July 1, 2013 from 10 a.m. to 1 p.m. with a gathering to follow in the Reflections Reception Center. Memorial contributions may be made to the family. Envelopes will be available at the funeral chapel.
Rudy was born on April 14, 1942 in Waco, TX, the son of Lupie and Estafana (Sandobal) Castillo. Rudy was raised on a farm near Delwin in Isabella County. The family then moved to the city of Mt. Pleasant. He graduated from Mt. Pleasant High School in 1960. He worked for Mt. Pleasant Tire, Loomis Machine Company of Clare, then entered and served in the United States Army from 1963 to November 1966. Upon his return from service, he worked and attended training for Sikorsky Aircraft in production control, located in Connecticut. He returned to Michigan in the 70's and started working as a Corrections Officer for the State of Michigan. He was promoted through the years to the rank of Captain and retired in October of 1978. He married Karen Lucille Weller on November 22, 1997 at the First United Methodist Church in Mt. Pleasant. Rudy loved fishing, football, being on the lake with his boat, and enjoyed quality time with family and friends. Rudy will be remembered for his loyalty and love to family and friends, heart of gold, and his quick sense of humor.
Rudy is survived by his wife of 15 years, Karen L. Castillo; stepsons, Mike (Vicki) Hine of Windchester, KY, Steven (Jody) Hine of Kalkaska, MI, Todd Hine of Rapid City, MI, and John (Joanne) Hine of Bellaire, MI; five step-grandchildren; brothers, Jesse (Judy) Castillo and Patrick (Barbara) Castillo; sister, Ruth (Alton) Dahn; and many nieces and nephews.
Rudy was preceded in death by his parents, Lupie and Estafana Castillo; brothers, Joe and Danny Castillo; and sister, Tomisita "Toni" Segura.
