Obituary Condolences

Mar. 27, 1925-June 18, 2013

Edgar Almonte Ward, aged 88, passed away on June 18, 2013, as a result of injuries sustained from an automobile accident. Ed was born March 27, 1925, in Kalamazoo, Michigan to Merton and Millie Ward.
Ed was a 1943 graduate of Kalamazoo Central High School and received both his Bachelor's and Master's Degrees from Western Michigan University. He proudly served his country with the United States Navy during W.W.II. He was employed by the State of Michigan as a parole/probation officer until his retirement.
Ed will always be remembered as a huge University of Michigan fan which continued even while living in New Hampshire for many years. He loved to travel and made many trips to Mexico, Europe, all 50 states and many other places. He loved the great outdoors including hunting, fishing, and camping. He loved reading and writing poetry, reading and quoting Shakespeare, and other classic literature. He often mentioned fondly of his years singing in the St. Luke Episcopal Church choir as a young boy. His love for coaching and teaching followed him throughout his life.
He is survived by his children, Dianne (Tim) Low, Harry J (Dawn) Ward, Terri (Rod) Marshall, Sharon (Rob) Audsley, Michael Ward, and Mark (Linda) Ward. Also surviving are his former wife, Barbara, sister Susie Shau, 12 grandchildren, 10 great grandchildren, many nieces, nephews, and friends. He was preceded in death by his parents, son Norman Ward, brother Harry Everett Ward, sisters Maxine Vanderberg and Mary Lou Narnst, and his long time friend and companion Lynne Wilson.
In keeping with his wishes cremation has taken place and a private family service will be held at a later date. Interment will be at Fort Custer National Cemetery. For those who wish, contributions to the may be made in Ed's memory.
