Linda was born on December 27, 1941, in New Bedford, MA, the daughter of John and Angela (Souza) Rapoza. She graduated from New Bedford High School. She married John Spiris on April 10, 2000. Linda was a member of St. Henry’s Catholic Church in Rosebush and past president of Women of the Moose. She enjoyed cooking and knitting, especially items for the homeless, and showed her concern for others through various philanthropic endeavors. She had a kind heart and took in countless stray cats, as if they knew she would care for them. However, first and foremost, she was a wonderful, caring and loving wife, mother, and grandmother. She NEVER thought of herself and her family’s happiness and welfare was always her primary concern. Linda is survived by her husband, John Spiris of Lake Isabella; children, Pat Bowers of Weidman, Kelly (Misty) Bowers of Mt. Pleasant, Melinda (Ron) Mankowski of Mt. Pleasant, and Lisa (Dr. Dan) Brayton of Portage, MI; 10 grandchildren, Mandy and Matt Bowers, Nick, Kloie and Erica Bowers, Tim, Kristin and Kevin Mankowski, Hayden and Baley Brayton; 1 great grandson Riley Raine Mankowski; brothers, David (Jan) Rapoza of PA, Thomas (Svetlana) Rapoza of CT, Tony Rapoza of FL; and sister, Mary (Richard) Whiteman of FL. Linda was preceded in death by her first husband, Gene Bowers; son, Jimmy; 2 1/2 year old twin sister Candy Rapoza, sister Arlene Rapoza, and brother John Rapoza.
