Dale N. Swan
April 2, 1924-Dec. 4, 2012
Dale N. Swan, age 88, of Hot Springs, AR, passed away on Tuesday, December 4, 2012, at St. Joseph Mercy Hospital in Hot Springs. Visitation for Dale will be held at the Dewey Funeral Home in Alma, MI, on Monday, December 10, 2012 from 11 a.m. until the Funeral Service at 1 p.m. Justin Daron, minister at the St. Louis Church of Christ will officiate. Burial will take place in Pine Grove Cemetery in Gratiot County.
Dale was born on April 2, 1924 and was adopted in 1929 by Elmer and Vivian Swan of Alma, MI. After growing up on the family farm, he enlisted in the US Navy. His service to our country included both W.W.II and the
where he served as an aerial engineer. His working career included 19 years of skilled trades and engineering with
in their Lansing Oldsmobile Plant. His lifelong hobbies were wood working and caring for his extensive lawns.
Surviving Dale are his step-children, Rose Marie (Robert) Phillips, Evelyn (Charles) Corder, Dorothy Yelsik, and John (Beverly) Yelsik; his step-grandchildren, Patrick, Michelle and Amy; and his step-great grandchildren, Aidan and Hope.
Preceding Dale in death were his wife of 46 years, Geraldine (Huntoon) Swan; his parents; and his cousin, Elwood Hulbert. Dale was a wonderful person and will be greatly missed. His favorite charities were The Salvation Army
and the Arkansas Hospice Foundation
The family is being served by the Dewey Funeral Home of Alma.
