Donald Sidney Moore Obituary
Moore, Donald Sidney; age 93; a resident of Clinton Township, Michigan; Jesus took him on Saturday, July 5, 2014 at Pine Ridge of Garfield Senior Living, Clinton Twp. He was born on May 2, 1921 in Mount Clemens, MI to the late Percy and Marjorie (Willis) Moore. On October 4, 1947 in Mt. Clemens he was united in marriage to the former Sophia Paul Mighion. Together they have shared 66 years of marriage. Mr. Moore served in the United States Army Air Corp during World War II. He was employed by the United States Post Office. He was a member of the First Presbyterian Church in Mt. Clemens. Donald enjoyed railroad memorabilia and made several model replicas of his favorites. He was proud to have donated and contributed photos to several books and the Illinois Railroad Museum. His collection of books, lanterns, and keys focused on the Interurban railroads which have been gone for nearly 100 years. He was and excellent carpenter. He built the family house in Harrison Township, MI, a cupboard for his young daughter along with a chest, and his granddaughter, Cassandra’s cradle. He is survived by his wife, Sophia; beloved Dad of Christine Currie and Phil Moore; and grandpa of Ryan, Evan, Cassandra; six grandchildren and three great grandchildren. He was preceded in death by his son, Bradley Paul Moore; granddaughter, Katie Moore; and son-in-law, Randy Currie. Memorial Services will be held on Wednesday, July 16, 2014 at 10:30 a.m. Visitation starting at 10 a.m. at First Presbyterian Church, 168 Cass Ave., Mt. Clemens.
