Elmer "Brownie" Brown Obituary

Elmer "Brownie" Brown, age 89, of St. Louis, passed away Tuesday, July 24, 2012 at Schnepps Health Care Center, St. Louis.
Brownie was born April 24, 1923 in Gladwin to Ernest and Edna (Ritchie) Brown. He graduated from Gladwin Rural Agriculture in 1943. He joined the Air Force during W.W.II with an honorable discharge in 1945. Brownie married Carola Cole on November 20, 1966 in Mt. Pleasant. He worked for Roosevelt Refinery as a chemist until they closed in the 1970's and then joined Total Petroleum until his retirement in 1983. He was a member of the St. Louis American Legion for 45 years. Brownie enjoyed golfing, fishing, hunting, camping, woodworking, bowling, puzzles, yard work, gardening and canning.
He is survived by his wife, Carola of St. Louis; children, Judy (George) Logan of Kinross, Pam (Terry) Fisher of Alma, Kevin (Jeanette) Brown of McBain; 15 grandchildren, 12 great grandchildren and three great great grandchildren; also brothers, Eldon and Larry (Beverly) Brown.
Brownie was preceded in death by his parents; two sons, Mark and Warren Richard Brown; two sisters, Opal Miller and Doris Raymond.
Funeral Services will be held Saturday, July 28, 2012 at 11 a.m. at the Lux and Whiting Funeral Chapel, Breckenridge with Pastor John Robinson, officiating. Interment will be in Emerson Township Cemetery. Visitation will be held Friday from 5 to 8 p.m. and Saturday from 10 a.m. until time of service at the funeral home.
