Emma Jean Briggs, 84, of Midland, died Friday evening, September 20, 2013 at Tendercare of Mt. Pleasant.
She was born on October 15, 1928 in Mt. Pleasant, daughter of the late Lee and Olive (Tripp) Anspach. She married Robert Briggs on July 12, 1947 in Mt. Pleasant. He preceded her on February 3, 2008.
Emma was a member of St. John's Episcopal Church in Midland, life member of the Midland American Legion Berryhill Post #165 Auxiliary and had volunteered at the Aleda E. Lutz VA Medical Center in Saginaw, the MidMichigan Medical Center in Midland and SAMS Pantry at St. John's. She had enjoyed playing cards and spending time with her family. Surviving are her three children, Robert G. II and Cindy Briggs of Coleman, Linda Marie and Michael Parsons of Beaverton, Mary Ann and Tracy A. Lee of Mansfield, Texas; grandchildren, Terry Parsons, Jamie Kennedy, Morgan Lee, Taryn Lee, Travis Briggs, Ashley Briggs, Larry Hall, Mike Hall; great grandchildren, Austin Kennedy, Hunter Parsons, Nevada Kennedy, Tyler Parson, Skyler Parsons, Olivia Briggs, Emma Briggs, Owen Briggs, Katelyn Hall, Samantha Hall; brothers, Raymond (Janice) Anspach of Alma, Richard (Joyce) Anspach of Livonia; sister, Alice Lousiell of Mt. Pleasant; and many nieces and nephews.
In addition to her husband; and parents; two sisters, Marie Gross and Naomi Campbell all preceded her in death.
Funeral Services will take place at 11 a.m. Tuesday, September 24, 2013 at St. John's Episcopal Church in Midland. The Rev. Michael Wilson officiating. Emma's family will receive friends at the church on Tuesday from 9:30 a.m. until the time of service. Those planning an expression of sympathy may wish to consider SAMS Pantry at St. John's Episcopal Church. Funeral arrangements have been entrusted to the care of the Ware-Smith-Woolever Funeral Directors.
