Georgia Lee Glendeen (Yates) Busch Obituary

Georgia Lee Glendeen, was born on March 28, 1926 in Joplin, Missouri, to George Thomas and Leona Mildred (Moore) Yates. She moved to Breckenridge, Michigan in 1932 with her family from Oklahoma. Georgia Lee graduated from Breckenridge High School in 1944. She was a good student and very active in school activities.
Georgia Lee married Wayne Busch at her parent's home in Breckenridge on November 3, 1946. The happy couple resided in the Alma-St. Louis area until 1975, when they moved to Savannah, and then Valdosta, Georgia, returning to Alma in 1995, where she remained until her death.
While Georgia Lee's children were young, she was involved with many church and community activities. She was a Den Mother and a Girl Scout leader, taught Sunday school, served on many church committees, sang in the choir, and lead a teenage youth group. Georgia Lee enjoyed her family, taking great pride in her children, grandchildren, and great grandchildren - supporting their activities and accomplishments. Georgia Lee was a wonderful cook and loved to entertain family and friends. She was a loving, giving, and caring woman, who loved life, was dedicated to God, and had a smile and words of encouragement for those around her. Georgia Lee will be greatly missed.
Georgia Lee was preceded in death by her parents, George and Leona Yates; her husband, Wayne Busch; two sisters, Cora Vance Westervelt and Billie Vance Brawner; and a brother, George Yates.
Georgia Lee is survived by a son, Lon (Susan) Busch of Prudenville, MI; a daughter, Claudia (George) Benson of Murfreesboro, TN; granddaughter, Erin Busch (Tom) Grabmeyer and their son, Brock, of Alma, MI; granddaughter, Kari (Rob) McCormick and their son, Cole, of Perrinton, MI; granddaughter, Janelle Benson of Pensacola, FL; grandson, Raymond Benson of Murfreesboro, TN; sisters, Patricia (William) Elder of Fairfax, VA; Barbara (James) Baker of Carlsbad, CA; Jayne Anderson of Alma; and several nieces and nephews.
Memorials may be made to the - JDRF or Masonic Pathways.
Funeral Services will be held Thursday, September 27, 2012 at 1 p.m. at Lux-Moody-Wolfel Funeral Home in Alma with Pastor George Ayoub of Masonic Pathways officiating. Interment will be in Oak Grove Cemetery, St. Louis. Visitation will be held Thursday from 11 a.m. until the time of services at the funeral home.
