Herman A. Kremsreiter, age 92, of Beal City passed away Friday, December 13, 2013, at Margaret's Meadows Assisted Living.
A Funeral Mass for Herman will be held at 10:30 a.m. Monday, December 16, 2013 at St. Joseph the Worker Church in Beal City with Father Ricky Varner presiding and Deacon Larry Fussman assisting. Burial will be in St. Joseph Cemetery.
The family will receive friends at Lux Family Life Story Funeral Home on Sunday from 2 to 8 p.m. with the Vigil Service beginning at 7 p.m. Visitation continues at the church on Monday one hour prior to Mass.
Memorial contributions may be made to St. Joseph the Worker Church or School. Envelopes are available at the funeral home.
Herman was born October 21, 1921, in Beal City, son of the late Frank and Mary (Lawens) Kremsreiter. He served in the U.S. Army from 1941 - 1945 during W.W.II in the Philippines, Aleutian Islands, and Okinawa. On September 10, 1947, he married Rosaleen Fox at St. Philomena Church in Beal City.
Herman worked at Fussman Garage from 1940 - 1972. After purchasing the garage he renamed it Herman's Garage which he operated until retirement in 2001. He was a proud member of St. Joseph the Worker Church, a founding member of Knights of Columbus Council 3651 and a member of Weidman
. He also enjoyed fishing in Canada and hunting.
Herman is survived by 9 children, Lee (Nancy) Kremsreiter of Mountain Home, Akansas, Betty Garrett of Alpena, Jane (Richard) Cotter of Beal City, Jim (Janet) Kremsreiter of Beal City, John (Lori) Kremsreiter of Hubbard Lake, Alan Kremsreiter of Shepherd, Ann Compton of Oakland, Dale Kremsreiter of Sheridan, and Kay (Carol Ginder) Kremsreiter of Otter Lake; 30 grandchildren; and 23 great grandchildren.
He was preceded in death by his parents; wife, Rosaleen in 2001; son, Gary Kremsreiter; two grandsons, Jeremy Cotter and Zachary Cotter; three sisters, Rita Duffy-Pasionek, Helena McCormick, and Ida Fussman; and brother, Walter Kremsreiter.
The Kremsreiter Family thanks Margaret's Meadows for the compassion that was shown to Herman over the past five years and to Hometown Hospice for its care in recent days.
