Ida May Herald, age 82, of Stanton, passed away at her home on Tuesday, November 27, 2012. Ida was born in Kent County, Michigan on August 18, 1930, the daughter of Glenn and Eva (Moyer) Johnston.
On January 7, 1963, she married the love of her life, Raymond Herald in Vernon, Texas. As a homemaker, Ida enjoyed bowling, fishing, camping, going to tractor pulls, and music festivals. She loved her dog, "Pokey." Ida was a member of the VFW Auxiliary 5062 in Sheridan.
Ida is survived by her husband, Raymond of 49 years; her 5 children, Ruth Ann (Lonny) McQueen of Vestaburg, Alfred "Mugs" (Jane) Hunt of Edmore, Rose (Gary) VanBuskirk of Edmore, Frank (Chris) Hunt of Weidman, Lyle (Rene) Hunt of Missouri; step-daughter, Rose (Herald) Jorae; 13 grandchildren and 21 great grandchildren.
Ida was preceded in death by her parents, Glenn and Eva; 2 sisters, Bernice Butts, Hazel Shear; six brothers, Charlie, Fred, Bert, Bill, Elias and Ivan.
A Funeral Service for Ida has been scheduled for Friday, November 30, 2012 at 11 a.m. at the Edmore Church of God with Pastor Steven Gulick officiating. The family will receive the support of friends at a Visitation scheduled for Thursday, November 29, 2012 from 2 to 4 and 6 to 8 p.m. Interment will be in McBride Cemetery.
