Jacob C. Byler, 70, 8811 S. Brand Ave., Clare, MI 48617, died unexpectedly and went to be with the Lord December 27, 2013. He was born December 8, 1943, in Middlefield, OH, to the late Crist and Lydia Byler. He was a member of the Old Order Amish Church.
He was married to Verna C. Troyer in Apple Creek, OH on November 19, 1964. They lived together 49 years, 1 month, and 8 days.
Surviving are: his wife; and 7 children, Crist, Fayetteville, AR, Edward (Mattie) Byler, Clare, MI, John Henry (Charity), Auburn, KY, Irene (Jay) Stutzman, Clare, MI, Melvin (Esther) Byler, Macomb, MO, Ivan Byler, Clare, MI, Raymond (Mary Ruth) Byler, Clare, MI; 1 daughter-in-law, Viola Byler, Evart, MI; 1 son-in-law, Amos Raber, Goshen, IN; 30 grandchildren and 5 great grandchildren; 4 brothers, William (Emma) Byler, Dover, DE, Eli (Ida) Byler, Clare, MI, Crist (Anna Mary) Byler, Dover, DE, Dan (Alma) Byler, Nathalie, VA; 5 sisters, Anna (Sam) Miller, Wyoming, DE, Irene (Leroy) Mast, Warren Center, PA, Elizabeth (Joni) Mast, Mt. Vernon, IL, Barbara (Andy) Mast, Morgantown, KY, and Lena (Ammon Daniel) Miller, Bell Rive, IL.
Preceded in death by his parents; 1 daughter, Amanda (Amos) Raber; infant twins, David and Ruth; 1 sister, Lydia Schlabach; and 2 infant grandchildren.
Funeral Services will be held Tuesday, December 31, 2013 at the Colonville Warehouse, 9 a.m. Officiating by the home ministry.
