Jeffery Golden Obituary
Golden, Jeffery “Pops”; age 71; of St. Louis; passed away Tuesday, August 12, 2014 at Bronson Battle Creek Hospital. He was born November 3, 1942 in Gary, Indiana the son of William and Nanette (Smith) Golden. He was married to Marjorie Sanger. Jeff graduated from Mt. Pleasant High School and earned his BSN from Central Michigan University. He worked for many years in the health care profession as a nurse. He served his country in the United States Army during the Vietnam War until his honorable discharge.He displayed a great talent in most everything he tried from, cooking, quilting, crafts and music. He enjoyed riding his bicycle and was a sports enthusiast. He loved participating in Pow Pows to show pride in his Cherokee heritage. Jeff is survived by his wife, Marjorie of St. Louis; four children, Tony (Helen) Golden of Park City, Utah, Anne Golden of Nashville, Tennessee, Martin (Ama) Golden of Avondale Estates, Georgia, Marie Golden (Tracy Grossett) of Alma; son-in-law, Jim Goodman of Alma; seven grandchildren, Waverly and T.J. Golden, Ruby Golden, Maliah and M.J. Golden, Skyler and Rheanon Grossett; two brothers, Keith (Jan) of Chicago, Mike (Karen) of Lansing; and a sister, Nadine (Bill) of Fort Meyers, Florida. He was preceded in death by his parents. A Celebration of Jeff’s Life will be held today Friday, August 15, 2014 at 5 p.m. at 145 W. VanBuren Road in Alma. Memorial contributions may be made to Disabled American Veterans. Arrangements have been entrusted to the care of Lux Funeral Home, St. Louis.
