Kirk Stephen
Griswold
Jan. 21, 1957 - Aug. 4, 2012

Kirk
Stephen Griswold, long-time resident of Alma, most recently living in Crystal, passed away at age 55, peacefully in his home surrounded by his loving family on August 4, 2012 after a courageous battle with cancer.
Kirk was born to Rex and Merilyn (Olsen) Griswold on January 21, 1957 in Alma, MI. In 1975 he graduated from Alma High School. While attending school he loved participating in sports and spending time with friends.
After high school, Kirk worked for Midstate Sandblasting and Painting for many years. In 1986, Kirk moved to Kalkaska and with the partnership of his brother, Mike, and his friend, Bob Felke, they started GF&G Construction. While working in the oil field he met many lifelong friends and cherished their friendships.
While living in Kalkaska, Kirk and Juli Baracy became proud parents to Ashli (1983), Danielle (1988), and Charli (1989). He was the most loving and caring father throughout his entire life. He would have done anything for his children, and they think the world of him. He is and will be missed so much.
In 1994, he and his family moved back to Alma, MI and he went to work in Gillette, Wyoming for Phoenix Energy. After working in Gillette, he went to work for Dufrene Machinery (Ithaca, MI), and had been an employee there for the past 10 years.
Kirk had been a dedicated and hardworking man his entire life. Any time that he was not working, he enjoyed cooking, traveling, being outdoors, playing and watching sports, and spending time with his kids and grandchildren. He loved being a father and spent any chance he got with his children.
He is survived and deeply missed by his children, Ashli (Michael) Jordan, Danielle Griswold, and Charli Griswold; his grandchildren, Ava, Ella, and Noah; his mother, Merilyn Shephard (Norman); father, Rex Griswold (Nancy); brothers, Kim Griswold, Mike Griswold (Candice); and cousins, nieces, and nephews.
His children would like to welcome friends and family to Celebrate his Life on September 15, 2012, with a Memorial Service at 1 p.m. at Seville Community Church of God in Elwell, MI. Following the memorial will be a Celebration of his Life at 8830 N. Lumberjack Rd., Riverdale, MI.
