Lucinda Elizabeth Sprague, age 85, of Weidman, passed away Saturday, December 7, 2013 at the Isabella County Medical Care Facility.
Funeral Services for Lucinda will be held at the Weidman United Methodist Church on Friday, December 13, 2013 at 11 a.m. with Pastor Scott Smith and Lay Pastor Dallas McClain officiating. Interment will follow in the Fairview Cemetery. The family will receive friends on Thursday, December 12, 2013 from 2 to 5 p.m. and 6 to 8 p.m. at Clark Family Funeral Chapel. Visitation will continue the day of the service from 10 a.m. until the time of the service. Memorial contributions may be made to the Weidman United Methodist Church or to Woodland Hospice. Envelopes will be available at the funeral chapel and the church.
Lucinda was born on June 1, 1928 in Mecosta County, the daughter of William and Lydia (Buxton) Snider. She married Richard "Gary" Sprague on June 17, 1946. Together they had three loving children. Gary preceded Lucinda in death on August 14, 1992. Following his death, Lucinda was remarried to Monroe Dutcher on February 12, 1994. Monroe also preceded Lucinda in death on April 16, 2005. Lucinda worked for the Mt. Pleasant Regional Center from 1959 until the time of her retirement in 1984. She was a member of the Weidman United Methodist Church and enjoyed spending her time sewing. Lucinda loved to spend time with her family, grandchildren, and dog, Hobo.
Lucinda is survived by children, Sally Ann (Jerry) Bazaire of Lake Havasu, AZ, Peggy Jane Straus, and Michael (Susan) Sprague, both of Weidman; 11 grandchildren; several great grandchildren; many great great grandchildren; and sister, Bertha Zuke of Big Rapids.
Lucinda was preceded in death by her first and second husbands; parents; two brothers; one sister; and son-in-law, Fred Straus.
Lucinda's family would like to thank all of the administrative staff, employees, and volunteers at the New Hope Assisted Living, Isabella County Medical Care Facility, and Woodland Hospice for their dedication and care that added to the quality of her life over the last five years.
