Mable D. Lucas, age 90, of Mt. Pleasant, Michigan, passed away on Tuesday, November 20, 2012, in the Laurel's of Mt. Pleasant. Mable was born on October 9, 1920, in Albion, New York, the daughter of Elmer and Grace (Downs) Hall. Mable married George Lucas in Battle Creek, Michigan. George passed away on December 4, 1996.
Mable was a resident of the area since 1942. She was a homemaker who attended the Mt. Pleasant Community Church, was a member of the Mt. Pleasant Womens Club, a Past Noble Grand of the Calla Rebekah Lodge 205, the Ladies Encampment Clarabella #54, a Past President of the Chemical Center LAPM #55, Senior Member of the Theta Rho Club #16, Past President of the Department Association of Michigan L.A.P.M., Past Chief Matriarch of Clarabella LEA #54, and a member of the Moose Lodge Chapter 338.
Surviving Mable is her daughter, LaFern and Richard LaPoe of Clare, Michigan; five grandchildren, Laurie Myers, Kathy Lunn, Mike LaPoe, Jeff LaPoe, and Brad Lapoe; nine great grandchildren, Justin Lunn, Heather Lunn, Steven Myers, Scott Myers, Ashely VanDamm, Ryan LaPoe, Lucas LaPoe, Alexis LaPoe and Bryce LaPoe, and great great grandson, Brendan Lunn. Mable was preceded in death by her husband, George; both parents; two brothers, LeRoy and Albert Hall; and three sisters, Elah Baker, Florence Gilespie, and Edith Richardson.
Private Funeral Services will be held for the family. Interment will take place in Riverside Cemetery beside George at a later date. Memorial contributions are suggested to
