Marianne Elizabeth (Scholtz) Kelly passed away on March 19, 2012 at the age of 95.
The Guest Book is expired.
Born on September 3, 1916, to Albert and Elizabeth Scholtz at Detroit, Michigan, she married William G. Kelly on June 8, 1935. She was preceded in death by her husband and her sister, Pauline Pegg. Marianne was the cherished mother of William J. (Joan); James; Maureen (Bill) Kuz; Catherine Jill(and companion, Terry Hite;) loving grandmother of 11; great-grandmother of 8; great-great-grandmother of 1, and aunt to many nieces and nephews.
A memorial service will be held at St. Theodore Church, Westland, Michigan on April 21st at 10:30, with a luncheon immediately following. Marianne will be interred at a later date at Holy Sepulchre Cemetery in Southfield, Michigan
Bill and Marianne purchased the Miller Welding Supply Company in 1956, and renamed it Kelly Welding Supply Company. Along with their children, and others, they operated the business into the '70,s, and a Michigan Secretary of State branch along the way. Bill was actively involved in the Knights of Columbus----being a 4th Degree member of considerable note----as well as the Democratic Party of Michigan and Isabella County. Marianne was not "just a housewife!" She participated with Bill in these activities, and in the lives of their children. Having read some of their letters to one another over the years, those letters truly depict the loving relationship they had. We have missed him, and, now, we miss them.
Marianne was very lovingly cared for by the staff of Angela Hospice, Livonia, Michigan the last few months of her life. Any donations you choose to make to them would be a fitting gesture to a fine organization. Go to www.an gelahospice.org/donate to choose a method of donation.
