Millard LaRoy Bush, passed away November 7, 2013, at his home in St. Louis, Michigan, surrounded by his family.
Millard was born in Flint, Michigan, December 10, 1926. He spend most of his life in the Traverse City area. He served in the U.S. Navy for 18 months during World War II. He then attended college at Central Michigan University and graduated with a degree in Accounting. Millard worked for Leonard Refinery/Total in Alma, MI for many years, and later had an accounting business in Big Rapids. In 1962 to 1963, he was also the State President of the Michigan Jaycees. He retired in 1997.
Millard had a passion for woodworking. He took pride in everything he built including a beautiful home on Lake Mecosta.
He is survived by his wife of 60 years, Willajoe; three children, Susan (Colin) McCoy of Rochester Hills, MI, Cheryl MacDonald of St. Louis, MI, and Jeffrey Bush; one sister, Margaret Cheney of Traverse City. Millard had three grandchildren, Amelia Castillo (Albert McCormack), Freddie (Haley) Castillo, Lori Bush; four great grandchildren, Mariah, Jaylon, Damon, and Payton.
Millard was preceded in death by his parents, Leon and L. Lorean Bush; and seven brothers, Joseph, Leon, Ray, Jim, Jack, Edward, and Patrick.
A Memorial Service will be held Saturday November 23, 2013 at 1 p.m. at the First Baptist Church of St. Louis, MI with a dinner to follow.
In lieu of flowers, donations may be made to Rick and Christy Gascho, missionaries in the Czech Republic, and or to the Mid Michigan Health Hospice. Envelopes will be available at the memorial or upon request.
