Murray Malcolm Mogg, age 87, of Rosebush passed away Friday, July 19, 2013, at his home with his family by his bedside.
A Funeral Mass for Murray will be held at 11 a.m. on Wednesday, July 24, at St. Henry's Catholic Church with Fr. Prentice A. Tipton officiating. Interment and a Military Honors Ceremony will follow in Woodland Cemetery. The family will receive friends from 6-9 p.m. on Monday, July 22, and from 1 to 3 and 6 to 9 p.m. on Tuesday, July 23, at Clark Family Funeral Chapel and from 10 a.m. until the time of service on Wednesday, July 24, at St. Henry's Catholic Church. There will be a Vigil Service held at 7 p.m. on Tuesday, July 23, at the funeral chapel. Memorial contributions may be made to American Legion, Rosebush Manor, or Woodland Hospice. Envelopes will be available at the funeral chapel and the church.
Murray was born on January 6, 1926 in Rosebush, the son of Ernest and Ethel (Prout) Mogg. Murray proudly served his country in the United States Army during WWII and the Korean Conflict. He married Bonnie Josephine Burch on September 6, 1947. Murray was a very loving and generous man. He worked as a dairy farmer and had also worked in the oil fields for 15 years.
Murray is survived by his children, Ted Mogg of Rosebush, Nancy (Barry) Brasington of Rosebush, Sally (Larry) Sandel of Lake Isabella, Tina (Gary) McPhall of Clare, Markie (Terry) Woodbury of Mt. Pleasant, Lucille (Mike) McCann of Rosebush, Tim (LouAnn) Mogg of Rosebush, and Pat Mogg of Rosebush; 27 grandchildren, Brock and Janelle Mogg, Bryce Mogg, Andrew and Joy Brasington, Duane and Bonnie Ryckman, Chase Brasington, Deanna Brasington, Bill and Christi Sandel, Michael and Valerie Stayton, Anthony and Jalene Sandel, Matthew, Thomas, and Garin McPhall, Dustin and Stephanie Woodbury, Brian and Ashley McBride, Ryan Woodbury, Levi and Allison Woodbury, Kristina Langlois, Nichole McCann, Erick, Jessica, Dillon, Cody, Ethan and Jake Mogg, Kyle and Shala Letts, Lindsy Mogg; 24 great grandchildren, Vada, Josephine, Malcolm Brasington, Landon Ryckman, Sarah, Savannah, Ryan, Ryker Stayton, Connor Sandel, Paxton and Keegan Sandel, Michael, Monica, Jordan, and Addison McPhall, Maisy and Shanna McPhall, Allison and Easton McBride, Blake Woodbury, Karana Langlois, Taylen Gottleber, Makayla Patterson, and Christopher Letts; and special friend Ardith Hoover of Rosebush; sisters-in-law, Mary Sharp, Julia Hovey, Dorthy Burch, Donna Lynch, and Suzanne (George) Moeggenberg.
Murray was preceded in death by his wife, Bonnie; brothers, Keith and Harold Mogg, Elmo and his wife, Daut Mogg, Wayne and his wife Ellen Mogg, infant brother Donald Mogg; daughter-in-law, Monica Mogg; grandson, Jason Mogg; and greatgrandson, Tyler Sandel.
Murray was also preceded in death by his in-laws, Wilson Sharp, Jake Hovey, Pat Burch, Rose Marie (Lee) Sponseller, Florence (Don) Schultz, Lucille Mogg, Irene (Bob) Evans, Martha (Don) Prout, Helen (Bill) Horan, Terry Lynch, Ken and Joe Burch, and Jim and Maxine Burch.
