Nancy Roberts Chamberlin, 79,
of Beaumont, died Tuesday, April 16, 2013, at Harbor Hospice, Beaumont. She was born on June 2, 1933, in Alma, Michigan. Nancy attended Alma High School, Stephens College, and Michigan State University. In 1955, she graduated from Butler University, where she was a member of Delta Gamma Sorority.
She married Harvey John "Jack" Phillips in 1955, and they lived in Saginaw, Michigan. They both moved to Lake County, Illinois, before residing in Greeley, Colorado. Nancy and Jack divorced in 1993, and she then married William "Bill" Chamberlin and resided in Vero Beach, Florida, until his death in 2009. It was after his death she moved to Beaumont, where she lived until she lost her battle with cancer. Nancy was a devout Catholic and attended St. Jude Thaddeus Catholic Church in Beaumont.
Survivors include her daughters, Patricia Rose Standley and her husband, Mike, of Beaumont, Pamela Ann Ash and her husband, Don, of Lake Charles, Louisiana; and son, John Douglas Phillips of Denver; grandson, Richard S. Karr of Lake Charles, Louisiana; brother, Richard E. Roberts and his wife, Rosemary, of Alma; and ex-husband, Jack Phillips of Greeley, Colorado.
Nancy is preceded in death by her parents, Cecilia and Edmund Roberts; and sisters, Jane Applebaum and Michelin Huestis.
She will be missed by many nephews and nieces, relatives, and friends in Texas, Michigan, Florida, and Colorado. Her special place was Crystal Lake Michigan. Nancy was a caring, loving mother to her children, enjoyed bridge, was a gourmet cook, and liked relaxing at the beachfront in Galveston where her ashes will be spread in a Private Family Gathering.
A Family Committal was held at Broussard's Crematorium, Beaumont, under the direction of Broussard's, 1605 North Major Drive, Beaumont.
