Phyllis Sue (Randle) Keller, age 71, of Rosebush, passed away peacefully at the Woodland Hospice House surrounded by her loving family, after a courageous battle with dementia on Saturday, March 2, 2013.
Phyllis was born on May 11, 1941, in Clare, Michigan, the daughter of Clarence and Peg (Hitchcock) Randle. She married Roy D. "Spike" Keller on November 11, 1962, in Port Huron, Michigan.
Phyllis graduated from Clare Public Schools. She was a Homemaker and took great care of her children. She worked as a bull cook on the Alaska Pipeline in the early 1970's. She was Spike's accountant for their business, Remus Road Boring.
Phyllis was a member of Zenobia Chapter #129 of the Order of the Eastern Star, a past member of the Clare Moose Lodge, and was a member of the Rosebush United Methodist Church.
Phyllis enjoyed spending time with her family and friends, and especially with her grandchildren and great-grandchildren. She loved to laugh and will always be remembered by "that Laugh". She loved listening to music, singing, having fun, and most of all she loved the Lord.
Phyllis is survived by her daughters, Karen (Greg) Magnus, Shelly Keller (Greg Roe), Jill (Dave) Jerome; stepdaughter, Colleen Mateer (Bob O'Dell); stepson, Robert (Lee Ann) Keller; her brother Larry (Thelma) Randle; sister-in-law, Carol Randle; grandchildren, Sharla (Byron) Clark, Ryan Simpson, Kelly Mateer, Troy and Tiffany Magnus; great grandchildren, Alivia, Alysse, Arien Clark, Rylan Simpson, and Lilly Magnus; and several nieces and nephews.
She was preceded in death by her parents; husband, Spike; daughter, Kim; and her brother, Mike Randle.
Phyllis was loved by and will be greatly missed by all. The family wishes to express special thanks for all the care she received at the Horizon Senior Living Center, Hospice of MidMichigan Homecare, and the Woodland Hospice House.
Funeral Services will be held on Thursday, March 7, 2013 at 11 a.m. at the Rosebush United Methodist Church with her pastor Rev. Jon Van Dop officiating. Burial will follow at Memorial Gardens Cemetery in Mt. Pleasant. Friends may meet with the family on Wednesday, March 6, 2013 at the Clare Chapel of Stephenson-Wyman Funeral Home from 2 to 5 and 7 to 9 p.m. Memorials may be made to Woodland Hospice.
