Raymond Paul Carney, 88, of Michigan and Loveland, Colorado, passed away on Wednesday, August 21, 2013, at Tendercare-Mt. Pleasant.
A Memorial Service for Raymond will be held at 11 a.m. on Friday, August 30, 2013, at Clark Family Funeral Chapel with Joe Frankenfield officiating. The family will receive friends on Friday from 10 a.m. until the time of service. A luncheon will follow the service in the Reflections Reception Center. Cremains will be interred in Holy Sepulchre Cemetery in Southfield. Memorial donations may be made to the Isabella County Commission on Aging. Envelopes will be available at the funeral chapel.
Raymond was born on September 10, 1924, in Detroit, the son of Frank and Helen (Koenig) Carney. He was married to his first wife, Rosemary Whalen, who preceded him in death in 1988, and then his second wife, Katherine Brake, who preceded him in death in 2013. Raymond worked for 35 years as an auditor for General Motors, retiring in 1980.
Raymond is survived by his children, Sally (James) Wojciechowski of Mt. Pleasant, Raymond (Dail) Carney of Royal Oak, Joseph (Sandra) Carney of Trenton; stepchildren, Robert Brake of Milliken, CO and Mary (Chuck) Ricke of Loveland, CO; many grandchildren; and great-grandchildren; and sister, Maureen (John) Kelly of Bloomfield Hills.
Raymond was preceded in death by his first wife, Rosemary Whalen; his second wife, Katherine Brake; and siblings, Frank Carney, George "Bill" Carney and Helen Bostwick.
