Sharla "Chuck" Mitchell Obituary
Mitchell, Sharla "Chuck" Sharla "Chuck" (Haring) Mitchell 72 of Clare passed away on Wednesday March 7th at home surrounded by many members of her loving family. Chuck was the youngest of 16 siblings born to Charles and Floy (Alwood) Haring in Clare on Dec. 2, 1946. Her large immediate and extended family was an important part of her life. Chuck married the love of her life Robert "Bob" Mitchell in 1968 and over the next 49 years of marriage they raised their 7 children in Clare. Bob preceded her in death on May 12, 2011. Chuck was a loving and caring person that always had a kind word for everyone that she met. She dedicated her professional life to helping those in need as the Mid Michigan Community Action Agency Outreach program manager overseeing the Food Pantry and Heating assistance programs for over 33 years. Family was everything to Chuck and she spent most of her time with her vast group of family and friends. She was close with her brothers and sisters, cared for her children, grandchildren and great grandchildren and she rarely missed any of their sporting events. Chuck was an avid Detroit Tigers fan, tournament euchre player, a dedicated active member of the local Moose lodge and a fantastic baker/cook. Sharla is survived by her children, Robert (Lori) Mitchell of Roscommon, Michelle (Bill) Steffke of Beal City, Tricha (Bradley) Knivila of Mt. Pleasant, James (Stacy) Mitchell of Clare, Jane (Kelly Palmer) Mitchell of Farwell, and John (Melissa) Mitchell also of Farwell, 17 grandchildren, six great-grandchildren, her brother Jim (Jeanette) Haring, sisters, Glenda (Art) Baker, Lynda (Bob) Hitchcock, and Margo (Rev) Benchley. She was preceded in death by her Parents, Husband Robert, Daughter Carol, Son in law Jimmy Green, Grandson Riley White, 11 Brothers and Sisters. Funeral Services will be held at 11am on Monday, March 12, 2018 at the Rosebush United Methodist Church. Friends may meet with the family at the Clare Chapel of Stephenson-Wyman Funeral Home on Sunday from 2 to 5 and 7 to 9 PM. Memorial contributions may be made to the Mid Michigan Community Action Agency Outreach Program in Honor of Sharla Mitchell. On-line guestbook at www.stephenson-wyman.com
