Victoria Helen Zebarah, age 96, of Mt. Pleasant passed away on Monday, December 24, 2012 at Maplewood of Mt. Pleasant.
A Mass of Christian Burial for Vickie will be held at St. Vincent De Paul Catholic Church on Friday, December 28 at 10:30 a.m. with Fr. Fred Kawka officiating. Interment will follow in the Holy Sepulchre Cemetery in Southfield, MI. The family will receive friends at Clark Family Funeral Chapel on Thursday, December 27 from 6 to 8 p.m. and at the church on Friday, December 28 from 9:30 a.m. until the time of service. Memorial contributions may be made to St. Vincent De Paul Catholic Church. Envelopes will be available at the funeral chapel and during services at the church.
Vickie was born on October 21, 1916 in Delray, MI, the daughter of Joseph and Cecylia (Niedziela) Cieslowski. She married Theodore Joseph Zebarah on July 28, 1945 in River Rouge, MI. Vickie worked as a cosmetologist for many years. She was a member of Christ the Good Shepherd Catholic Church in Lincoln Park, MI and the Daughter of Isabella. Vickie loved to crochet and to do water aerobics. Aside from being a great home maker and cook, Vickie was proud to be an American. During World War II, Vickie was a "Rosie the Riveter" and helped build planes to support our troops. Her faith was a large part of Vickie's life.
Vickie is survived by her daughters, Judi (Brad) Swartz of Mt. Pleasant and Linda McAdams of Mt. Vernon, WA; 3 grandchildren, Meredith (fiance' Jared St. Clair) Swartz of Arlington, VA, Marissa (Travis) Beckett of Washington D.C., Zachery McAdams of Mt. Vernon, WA; sister, Balbina "Scottie" Paul of Melvindale, MI; and her Maplewood family.
Vickie was preceded in death by her husband, Theodore; parents; brother, Frank; and sisters, Mary and Sophie.
