William A. "Bill" Burden, age 105, passed away at the Isabella County Medical Care Facility on Wednesday, February 27, 2013. Bill was born on August 25, 1907 in Lancaster, Ohio, the son of George Elizabeth Fisher Burden.
On August 28, 1933, Bill married Marie F. McReavy. He was a resident of Mt. Pleasant area since 1930. Bill worked in the oil fields and worked in construction. Being the oldest resident of the Mt. Pleasant area, Bill used quality time making old items into new. He loved woodcarving and the outdoors.
Bill is survived by his wife of almost 80 years, Marie of Mt. Pleasant; three children, Don of Mt. Pleasant, Harry of Mt. Pleasant, and Betty (Virgil) Coomer of Weidman; several grandchildren through five generations; and a sister, Margaret Cochran of Ohio.
Funeral Services for Bill will be held on Saturday, March 2, 2013 at 11 a.m. from the Rowley Funeral Home in Mt. Pleasant with Rev. Tom Dennis officiating. Interment will be in Riverside Cemetery. The family will gather with friends on Friday from 2 to 4 and 6 to 8 p.m. at the funeral home. Memorial contributions are suggested to the Isabella Community Soup Kitchen.
