William Francis Flachs Obituary
Flachs, William Francis of Evart, passed away peacefully in the loving arms of his wife at their home in Chippewa Township, Mecosta County, Michigan. He was 64. Bill was born May 13, 1953 in Muskegon to Francis James & Donna Marie (Doerr) Flachs. He graduated from Evart High School in 1971 and was a lifelong Evart area resident, but enjoyed the Upper Peninsula. Bill worked for Deans Dairy for 30 years and drove semi for them for 28 ½ of those years. Bill married Melanie L. Nabozny on St. Maarten, Dutch West Indies, January 1, 2011. The last few years, he had been driving semi for JDJ Ranch. Mr. Flachs was a member of Sacred Heart Catholic Church in Evart and a member of the Evart Moose Lodge. He was a talented singer who enjoyed hunting, fishing, playing cards and loved being around his kids and grandkids. Bill is survived by his wife, Melanie L. Flachs of Evart, his children, Amy (Tom) Bell of Greenville, Jennifer Flachs of Clare, Michael (Ashley) Flachs of Evart, Rebecca Flachs of Evart, Dillon (Lauren) Nabozny of Evart, Saige (Steve) Nabozny of Pratt, Kansas, his grandchildren, Alexandria and Ashley Bell, Peyton and Rachael Flachs, Mari, Kullen, Kelsee, Karter, Kayleb, Flachs, Logan and Cole Staats, Layla Nabozny, Chase Stratford, his brothers and sisters, June Mitchell of Evart, Margaret (Dave) Westmaas of McBain, Charles (Karen) Flachs of Evart, Debra (Dennis) Bryant of Evart, Jonathan (Cathy) McMillen of Huntsville, Alabama, Lisa McMillen of Rochester, Indiana, Mitchell (Lisa) McMillen of New Milford, Connecticut, Cheryl (Connie) McMillen of Falls Church, Virginia, Jazanne McMillen of Gallatin Gateway, Montana, brother-in-law Jim (Carolyn) McLachlan of Evart, sister-in-law Becky (Matt) Hirschman of Ithaca, his stepfather, Gary (Wanda Rossiter) McMillen of Evart, his mother and father–in-law, Carolyn and Joe Curtin of Evart, and many nieces and nephews. Funeral Services for William Francis Flachs are 1:00pm Thursday, February 15th at the Sacred Heart Catholic Church in Evart with Father Joe Fix officiating. Visitation is 2:00p to 4:00pm and 6:00pm to 8:00pm Wednesday, February 14th at the Corey Funeral Home in Evart with a Prayer Service at 8:00pm. Memorial contributions in honor of Bill may be directed to the Susan P. Wheatlake Regional Cancer Center in Reed City.
