Marguerite "Marge" Ethyl (West) Percha met her Maker on Sunday, February 23, 2014 dying peacefully in her home. She was born July 4, 1919 in Leaton, MI to George Henry and Ethyl Mae (McKenzie) West.
She was joined together with the love of her life, Thomas Louis Percha, in the Sacrament of Holy Matrimony on August 28, 1937 at St. Charles Catholic Church. She was his devoted wife for over 60 years. He preceded her in death on July 25, 1998.
She was a loving mother to three daughters; Jean (Eugene) Ervans of Mt. Pleasant, Phyllis (John) Prior of Midland, MI and Diana (Frank) Whitehead of Warsaw, IN her daughter, Jean, also preceded her in death as well as her six brothers, Dale, Edgar, William, Donald, Darrell and Joseph, and two sisters, Eleanor and Dorthea.
She was a life-long member of Sacred Heart Catholic Church where she received the Sacraments of Baptism and Confirmation, as well as her First Holy Communion and Confession. She also received the Sacrament of Extreme as provided by Holy Mother Church.
She is survived by 16 grandchildren, 72 great grandchildren, 14 great great grandchildren for a total of one hundred and five descendants. Remarkably, she was able to send birthday cards to all! She is also survived by several nieces and nephews. During W.W.II she supported her country and her family by working at Ferro Stamping Co. while her Marine husband fought in the Pacific. Later, she worked at Central Michigan University as a custodian at Foust Hall for seventeen years.
She wore, and died wearing, the brown scapular of Our Lady of Mt. Carmel and prayed the rosary daily. She was a long-time contributor to the funeral luncheons at Sacred Heart and will be remembered for her generosity in making hundreds of jars of rhubarb jam for her family and friends. She enjoyed camping and doing embroidery work. She will be missed by her grand-dog Tin-Tin.

Visitation will be held at Clark Family Funeral Chapel, 114 S. Bradley St., Mt. Pleasant, Wednesday, February 26, 2014, from 2 to 4 p.m. and 6:30 to 8:30 p.m. The holy rosary will be recited at 7 p.m. The Funeral Mass will be Thursday, February 27, 2014, at 11 a.m. at Sacred Heart Church with Fr. Jack Johnson and Fr. Thomas Held as the celebrants. The Rite of Committal will follow in the Calvary Cemetery. Memorial contributions can be made to the Sacred Heart Academy Foundation.
