Osha Fountain

Osha Fountain, age 100, passed away peacefully Thursday, February 27, 2014, with her son and daughter-in-law by her side at their winter home in Brush Prairie, Washington.
Funeral Services will be Thursday March 6, 2014 at 1 p.m. from the Berry Funeral Home, with Pastor Randall Roose officiating, interment will be in Porter Twp. Cemetery.
Visitation will be Wednesday, March 5 from 4 to 8 p.m. at the Funeral Home.
Osha was born in Walton, West Virginia on the 10th of May 1913. The daughter of Peter and Sarah Emiline (Linger) Kerns. Osha was raised by her uncle in the mountains of West Virginia, after her mother and twin sister, Ocie, passed away shortly following her birth. She was married on the 27th of February 1935 to Arnold Carper, who passed away December 6, 1976 after 41 years of marriage. She remarried Robert Fountain December 11, 1980 and was married to Robert for 27 years before he passed away in 2007.
Osha was a factory worker during World War II, and a homemaker for her entire life. She took great pride in family and cherished her friends and friendships. She always had a story to share about her life and her family was sharp minded until her final breath.
Osha is survived by her son, Oral (Pat) Carper of Grawn; two step-sons, Sam (Phyllis) Fountain of Lansing and Jim (Sherry) Fountain of Senoia, GA; two half-sisters, Hazeline Thornington and Geneal Berkhouse; 18 grandchildren; and 13 great grandchildren.
She was preceded in death by her parents; and step-mother, Sybil (Cottrell) Kerns; a brother, Russell Kerns; and five half-sisters, Sylvia Gibson, Ola Kerns, Catherin Kerns, Ruby Kerns and Marie Harper; two half-brothers, Virgil Kerns and Earl Kerns.
