Jeanne Lou Hartsell Obituary
Hartsell, Jeanne Lou; age 67; of Edmore; passed away on Monday, June 2, 2014; at the Henry Ford Hospital, in Detroit. Jean was born in Cass City on July 31, 1946, the daughter of Orville RJ and Katherine (Hawn) Hartsell. She was raised in the Chesaning and Owosso area and graduated from Chesaning Union Schools. She continued her education and Central Michigan University, graduating in 1987. Jeanne loved teaching alternative education and spent several years teaching at both the Fulton School System as well as the Barryton School. Jean also spent her last few years of her profession teaching for the Department of Corrections in Ionia. Jeanne had several hobbies that she enjoyed, including hunting and fishing. She was an avid gardener and she loved to raise horses and exotic animals. Jeanne is survived by her daughter, Katherine (Katie) Hartsell of Alma; and three grandchildren, Jordan Sinner of Manheim, Pennsylvania, Kaitlyn Wilson of Alma, and Colby Wilson of Alma. She is also survived by her sisters, Kathleen Canfield of Owosso, Margaret (Nelson) Mieske of McBai, Many Adam of Moran; a brother, Ronald L. (Sharon) Hartsell of Owosso; and several nieces and nephews throughout the state. She is also survived by a very special niece, Serena J. (Tom) Jorgensen of Edmore; and dear friends, Lynn Gallagher Main and Jennifer Fenrye. Jeanne was preceded in death by her parents, Orville and Katherine; a brother, Orville A. Hartsell; and her brother-in-law, Burton Canfield. A Funeral Service has been scheduled to celebrate Jeanne’s life for Friday, June 6, 2014 at 7 p.m. at the Brigham Funeral Chapel, 413 E. Gilson in Edmore. The family will receive the love and support of extended family members and friends at a Visitation scheduled for Thursday, June 5, 2014 from 5 to 8 p.m. and on Friday, June 6, 2014 from 5 to 7 p.m. (2 hours prior to the service).
