Patricia Towersey Obituary
Towersey, Patricia A.; age 80, of Alma; went to be with her Lord on Friday, June 6, 2014 at Mid-Michigan Medical Center Gratiot. Pat was born July 28, 1933 in Ithaca; the daughter of Carl and Clara (Rice) Wood. She was a 1951 graduate of Ithaca High School and participated in Varsity Softball and Basketball. She went on to graduate from Cosmetology School and had a salon in her home for several years. Pat married Darrell Towersey on June 6, 1964 at the Alma United Methodist Church and together they raised four childen. She was active as both a Boy Scout and Girl Scout Leader while her children were growing up. As Pat’s health declined the past few years she hoped to be able to live to see her 50th wedding anniversary with Darrell. With an inner strength throughout her illness her hope was realized. Pat is survived by her husband of 50 years, Darrell; two daughters, Christine (Keith) Eaton of Grand Blanc and Karen (Bruce) Whittaker of Fenton; eight grandchildren; three great grandchildren; and 17 nieces and nephews. Pat was preceded in death by her first husband, George Strouse; two sons; baby Bryon Stouse and Doug Strouse; a daughter, Barb Strouse; two brothers, Gary and William Wood; and sister, Marilee Strouse. Funeral Services for Pat will be held at 1 p.m. on Monday, June 9 at the Alma United Methodist Church with Pastor’s Debbie Thomas, Connie Bongard and Chuck Towersey officiating. Interment will be in Riverside Cemetery, Alma. Visitation will be held Sunday from 2 to 4 and 6 to 8 p.m. at Lux-Moody-Wolfel Funeral Home, Alma and on Monday from Noon until time of services at the church.
