Ann Elizabeth Reeb Obituary
REEB, ANN ELIZABETH; age 83; of Mt. Pleasant; passed away Sunday, July 20, 2014 at Woodland Hospice House surrounded by her family. Funeral Services for Ann will be held at the First United Methodist Church on Thursday, July 24, 2014 at 11 a.m. with Rev. Ron Thompson officiating. A luncheon will follow at the church. Interment will take place in the Riverside Cemetery in St. Charles, MI. The family will receive friends on Wednesday July 23, 2014 from 5 to 9 p.m. Visitation will continue the day of the service from 10 a.m. until the time of service at the church. Memorial contributions may be made to the First United Methodist Church. Envelopes will be available at the funeral chapel or the church. Ann was born on August 12, 1930 in Owendale, MI, the daughter of Aldo and Lillian (Clay) Hulien. She graduated with a Master’s Degree in Education from Central Michigan Normal School and taught in the Mt. Pleasant School System for over 26 years. Ann married Richard L. Powell on June 23, 1951 in St. Charles, MI. Richard and Ann had 3 children together and the two of them spent 34 loving years together before Richard’s passing in 1985. Ann then met Robert Reeb and married him on September 13, 1987. Ann was a member of the First United Methodist Church, United Methodist Women, Delta Kappa Gamma, Mt. Pleasant Women’s Club, and the Red Hatters. Ann enjoyed quilting and visiting with friends at local nursing and assisted living homes. Ann loved her family very much. Ann is survived by her husband of 26 years, Robert; children, Richard (Debbie) Powell of Central Lake, Robert Powell of Newport Beach, CA, and Elizabeth (Raymond) Kenny of Shepherd; step-children, Jan Hull of Fort Myers, FL, Jeff (Kate) Reeb of La Canada, CA, and Roberta Reeb of Marion, IL; seven grandchildren; four great grandchildren; brother, Charles (Belinda) Hulien of CA; sister-in-law, Judy Powell of Grand Rapids; and many nieces and nephews. Ann was preceded in death by her husband, Richard Powell; parents; brother, John (Erma) Hulien; brother-in-law, Jack Powell; and sister-in-law, Jean (Alex) Weaver; and step-son, James Reeb.
