Shirlie Mae Campbell, 87, of Mt. Pleasant, passed away on Sunday, May 27, 2012, at Rosebush Manor.
Funeral Services for Shirlie will be held at Clark Family Funeral Chapel on Thursday, May 31, at 11 a.m. with Rev. Jon Van Dop officiating. Interment will follow in Memorial Gardens Cemetery. The family will receive friends at Clark Family Funeral Chapel on Wednesday, May 30, 2012 from 4 to 7 p.m. Memorial contributions may be made to Rosebush Manor or Woodland Hospice. Envelopes will be available at the funeral chapel.
Shirlie was born on January 28, 1925, in Shepherd, the daughter of Oliver and Minnie "Mae" (Roundtree) Stowell. She married Stuart Campbell on April 20, 1941. She had worked for Oak Co. as a press operator and Scott's Hardware as a clerk. Shirlie was a life member of the VFW Auxiliary. She enjoyed quilting and belonged to the Rosebush Quilt Club. Shirlie was a champion bowler and was inducted into the Bowling Hall of Fame. She also was an avid golfer.
Shirlie is survived by her husband, Stuart Campbell of Mt. Pleasant; daughter Connie (Eric) Moore of Mt. Pleasant; five grandchildren Debra (Jim) Spooner of Mill Springs, NC, Dan (Deb) Moore of Farwell, Deanna Moore of Gladwin, Denise (Brad) Malley of Mt. Pleasant, and Doug (Dana) Moore of Lake Isabella; seven greatgrandchildren Ryan, Tanya, Jacob, Brodie, Rylee, Blake and Nolan; two great great grandchildren Aiden and Jayce.
Shirlie was preceded in death by her siblings, Vic, Ralph, Evart, and Beatrice.
